Ali Akbar Alvandian, Secretary of the Cement Industry Employers Association, announced the growth in cement production in the first two months of the year and said: 11 million and 300 thousand tons of cement were produced during this period, which is an increase of 9.6% compared to the same period last year.
Alvandian added: Clinker production also reached 13 million tons, which represents a 5% decrease compared to the same period last year.
Referring to the situation of cement consumption in the country, he added: The average monthly cement consumption is more than 5 million tons and continued production is necessary to meet market needs. Last year, in some months, production exceeded 7 million tons, which played an important role in compensating for temporary shortages. The cement industry expects electricity supply this year to be at a level that will allow the production of at least 5 million tons of cement per month.
